What you are buying

A perpetual licence to run Cleanwork by PTM on infrastructure you control, for up to the number of monitored employees in your tier. You own the licence outright. There is no recurring fee required to keep the software running.

Checkout amounts are in INR and exclude any tax we are required to charge in your country. If you would rather not run a server, dedicated managed hosting is quoted separately; instance size, storage, usage allowances, support and billing responsibilities are confirmed in writing before purchase.

Trial eligibility and billing

Eligible subscriptions offer a card-verified trial. The customer portal and provider checkout show the duration, seat limit and subsequent billing terms. Cancel before the trial ends to avoid the first plan charge. One-time purchases do not start a recurring trial. Once the payment provider confirms access, PTM emails a setup code; entering it in your dashboard binds the licence to that server. The key is fixed, signed and cannot be extended through an environment variable. When it expires the dashboard is gated until the plan is renewed; nothing you have already captured is deleted.

Updates and support

The first year of updates and support is included in the purchase price. After that year you can renew at 20% of the licence price per year to keep receiving updates and support.

This is the part people most often misread, so plainly: if you do not renew, your software keeps working. You simply stop receiving new versions and support. The licence you bought does not expire.

How the licence key works

Licence keys are signed with Ed25519 and verified locally by your server against an embedded public key. Connected installations check in at startup and hourly. A successful signed refresh permits up to seven days without another connection, or until the trial or subscription end date if earlier. This connection requirement also applies to perpetual purchases activated in connected mode. Missing the deadline locks employee data access without deleting stored records. Perpetual purchasers can instead activate an isolated server with a signed permanent offline file; replacements require PTM support. Keep the deployment-bound key confidential.

Each current self-service plan covers one activated server. Staging and other simultaneously running copies require separate activation capacity arranged with PTM. Reselling, sublicensing or redistributing the software or a key is not.

Your obligations as the operator

You run the server, so you are the data controller for everything it captures. Employee monitoring law varies by country, state and industry, and it is on you to comply with the law that applies to you. At a minimum that normally means telling the people being monitored what is collected and why, and obtaining whatever consent your jurisdiction requires.

The product is built for open, disclosed monitoring: the agent is visible in the system tray by design. Using it to monitor people covertly, where that is unlawful, is a breach of these terms as well as, quite possibly, the law.

Refund policy: all sales are final

All purchases are final and non-refundable. This applies to one-time perpetual licences, including licences purchased for permanent offline use, subscription and managed-hosting payments, renewals, upgrades, and updates or support purchases. PTM does not offer voluntary full or partial refunds, including for unused licences, unused seats or unused subscription time. Evaluate the product through an eligible trial and check your requirements before purchasing.

A permanent offline licence is delivered as a signed file tied to your installation and cannot be remotely withdrawn. It remains subject to this no-refund policy. Offline server replacements require PTM support and do not create a refund entitlement.

You can cancel a subscription or managed-hosting renewal to stop future billing. Cancellation does not refund a charge already made. Cancel an eligible trial before its displayed end date to avoid the first plan charge.

This policy does not exclude refunds, remedies or other rights that cannot be waived under applicable law, including rights concerning defective goods or deficient services where applicable. Payments are processed through Razorpay and are also subject to its applicable payment terms, including refund and dispute decisions. Warranty, liability and law

The software is provided as-is. We do not warrant that it is free of defects or that it will meet every requirement you have. To the maximum extent the law allows, our total liability is limited to the fees you paid for the affected perpetual licence, or for the affected subscription during the 12 months before the claim arose, and we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, including lost profits or lost data, only to the extent permitted by law. These limitations do not apply to fraud, wilful misconduct or any liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.

These terms are governed by the laws of India. Disputes may be brought before courts with competent jurisdiction in Gujarat, subject to mandatory consumer forums and other rights under applicable law. Contact us first so we can attempt to resolve the issue; doing so does not restrict statutory remedies or deadlines. If we change these terms, the version in force is the one published when you bought your licence. Last updated 19 October 2026.
