What you are buying

A perpetual licence to run PTM Clearwork on infrastructure you control, for up to the number of monitored employees in your tier. You own the licence outright. There is no recurring fee required to keep the software running.

Prices are in USD and exclude any tax we are required to charge in your country. Managed hosting, if you would rather not run a server, is a separate monthly subscription from $49 per month.

The free trial

Every tier is available with a 7-day vendor-issued trial of the complete product. Request a key using the Install ID shown after deployment. The key is fixed, signed and cannot be extended through an environment variable. When it expires the dashboard is gated until a licence key is applied; nothing you have already captured is deleted.

Updates and support

The first year of updates and support is included in the purchase price. After that year you can renew at 20% of the licence price per year to keep receiving updates and support.

This is the part people most often misread, so plainly: if you do not renew, your software keeps working. You simply stop receiving new versions and support. The licence you bought does not expire.

How the licence key works

Licence keys are signed with Ed25519 and verified locally by your server against an embedded public key. There is no activation server and no phone-home, which means the software works on an isolated network and we cannot observe your usage. It also means a key is a bearer credential: treat it like a password, and do not publish it.

One licence covers one production deployment. Non-production copies for staging or testing are fine. Reselling, sublicensing or redistributing the software or a key is not.

Your obligations as the operator

You run the server, so you are the data controller for everything it captures. Employee monitoring law varies by country, state and industry, and it is on you to comply with the law that applies to you. At a minimum that normally means telling the people being monitored what is collected and why, and obtaining whatever consent your jurisdiction requires.

The product is built for open, disclosed monitoring: the agent is visible in the system tray by design. Using it to monitor people covertly, where that is unlawful, is a breach of these terms as well as, quite possibly, the law.

Refunds

The 7-day trial exists so you can evaluate the whole product before paying, which is why the refund window is what it is: [[REFUND WINDOW, e.g. 14 days from purchase]], provided the licence is not in active production use. Managed hosting is billed annually and can be cancelled at any time; cancellation stops the next renewal rather than refunding the period already running.

Warranty, liability and law

The software is provided as-is. We do not warrant that it is free of defects or that it will meet every requirement you have. To the maximum extent the law allows, our total liability is limited to [[LIABILITY CAP, e.g. the amount you paid in the preceding 12 months]], and we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, including lost profits or lost data.
